As part of the COVID-19 Response Fund efforts, FLOURISH partnered with the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank – a nonprofit that donates diapers to low-income families in the St. Louis area – to supply FLOURISH COVID-19 Response Fund granted partners with diapers and period supply kits for Black families in the region. FLOURISH also agreed to distribute 6,000 paper masks through a collaboration with Prepare STL—a collaborative campaign among other health organizations to survive the pandemic physically, emotionally and economically—after hearing feedback from the community about the scarcity and cost of masks.
“We noticed that many of the COVID-19 Response Fund recipient groups were looking to provide diapers to their community,” said Brian Washington of Generate Health. “Knowing that they were looking for as much support as they could get, that prompted us to reach out to the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank.”
This partnership has facilitated the distribution of over 96,000 diapers and 955 period supply kits through local nonprofit organizations and community groups.
